Description : Pahala Plantation Cottages are historic homes in the village of Pahala, a former sugar plantation, now surrounded by coffee and macadamia orchards, as well as horse and cattle ranches, Volcanoes National Park and Punalu`u Black Sand Beach. Punaluu is just 6 minutes from the village and is famous for its sea turtles. The location is an excellent staging place for visiting the volcano, green sand beach, South Point and taking a day trip to the waterfalls and to the bays north to Kona. It is not a touristy village but an agricultural town surrounded by nature and the longest uninhabited coast in all of Hawai`i. Many ecological niches are nearby, from the Ka`u Desert to The Nature Conservancy preserves and Volcanoes National Park, from fern forests to a coast full of archaeology and the Honu`apo and Kawa preserves along the shore. The houses are fully equipped for cooking and laundry. Internet is available to guests. Golf, tennis, hiking nearby. |
